Middleburg Christmas Tree Farm
Located in Loudoun County, near Round Hill, Virginia, is the Middleburg Christmas Tree Farm. Noted as the oldest and largest Christmas Tree farm in that county, the farm is typically open from late November (the weekend after Thanksgiving) through early December – dependent on seasonal tree quantities available.

Claybrooke Farm
Since 1984, the Claybrooke Farm has provided Christmas Trees to families from Fredericksburg, Richmond, and beyond. The Claybrookes’ are now a multi-generational family devoted to providing environmentally-friendly and sustainable farming and foresting techniques to produce quintessential trees from their 20 acre tree farm. Visitors can cut their own tree or staff will provide assistance cutting your favorite tree if required.
Claybrooke Farm offers a variety of trees including: Canaan Fir, Concolor Fir, Blue Spruce, and Nordmann Fir. The farm is located at 912 Elk Creek Road, Mineral, Virginia 23117 which is about an hour drive southwest of Fredericksburg or just over a 1-hour drive northwest of Richmond. The Farm provides seasonal hour updates starting in October and they have moved to a reservation system for visitors available on their website.
Hank’s Christmas Trees at Hartland Farm
Hank’s Christmas Tree Farm offers both pre-cut and cut your own trees during the Holiday season. Located at 12230 Belle Meade Rd, Markham, VA 22643, the tree farm provides a variety of species such as: Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, White Pine, Canaan Fir, Blue Spruce, and Leyland Cypress.
Free hot chocolate is offered on the weekends, and mixed green wreaths for sale of varying sizes are made on site. The farm provides free saws to use, tie down rope, sleds to get your tree to your car, as well as did down and tree wrapping assistance.
Rifton Farm Nursery
For those who live near Roanoke, you should head to Rifton Farm Nursery for the Holidays! You are only a one-hour drive from an award winning Christmas Tree farm who in 2019 took first place in the Virginia Christmas Tree Association‘s contest and bestowed the honor having one of their trees displayed in the Governor’s Mansion that season.

Located only 14 miles east of Damascus, Virginia, Anne & Eddie Blevins Christmas Tree Farm is a great destination for those living in the Blue Ridge Mountains or just across the border in North Carolina to experience the fun and thrill of picking out your own tree for the Holidays! Seasonally, they are open from 10AM to dark to accommodate the crowds.

Chilly Hollow Christmas Tree Farm
Located in Northern Virginia, the Chilly Hollow Christmas Tree Farm is a great destination to take everyone in the family to experience the rolling hills of this working farm. The tree farm is a 25-minute drive east of Winchester and is located at 642 Chilly Hollow Road Berryville, Virginia 22611.
The Chilly Hollow Christmas Tree Farm is open year-round. During the non-Christmas season they offer produce including homemade jellies, maple syrup, honey, dilly beans, and more. It should be noted, the farm will not be offering Christmas Trees for the 2023 season due to an inventory shortage. However, they do plan to open for the 2024 Holiday Season.
Bedford Evergreens Christmas Tree Farm
If you live in Central Virginia, then head to Bedford Evergreens to source and cut your own Christmas Tree this season! The Bedford Christmas Tree farm is less than an hour’s drive east of Roanoke and located at 1893 Robertson Road Bedford, Virginia 24523. Boys Home Christmas Tree Farm
Operated by the Boys Home of Virginia in Covington, the Boys Home Christmas Tree Farm provides trees serviced by their men in their 80 acre tree farm. The Boys’ tree farm offers a variety of tree species including Norway Spruce. This is a fully staffed and full-service operation with bowsaws, twine, and tree bailing assistance provided. Situated approximately 25-miles west of Staunton, the Boys Home Christmas Tree Farm address is 1118 Bear Wallow Flat West Augusta, VA 24485. Buying a tree from the Home, not only will make your Holiday season brighter, you will be helping the boys in need and making their Christmas season more meaningful.
Dancing Hill Christmas Tree Farm
Located due west of Lynchburg are the rolling hills of the Dancing Hill Christmas Tree Farm. In less than an hour’s drive from east of Roanoke, at 1401 Dancing Hill Road Bedford, Virginia 24523, Dancing Hill offers some of the tallest cut your own Christmas Trees in the state!
Though the hours and days fluctuate by each season, Dancing Hill Christmas Tree Farm is open the last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in November. You don’t want to miss their gift shop that offers Christmas-themed ornaments, gifts, and various other garden and nature-themed items.
Clover Hollow Christmas Tree Farm
In Southwest Virginia, the Clover Hollow Christmas Tree Farm has been offering sustainably grown Christmas Trees for over 20 years. With the reduced use of heavy herbicides, fertilizer, and pesticides Clover Hollow offers a unique variety of tree species including Turkish Firs, Myers Blue Spruce, Balsam Fir, Corkbark, Concolor, Grand Firs, and of course Fraser Firs and Canaan Fir.
In addition to trees, the farm also offers mixed fir green wreathes in both small and large sizes. The farm is located north of Blacksburg at 190 Cider Hill Road, Newport Virginia about an hour-plus drive west of Roanoke.
Snead’s Asparagus Farm
Located in Carolin County, near Fredericksburg the Snead’s Asparagus Farm offers visitors goods year-round. From asparagus in the spring, to pumpkins and Christmas Trees in the fall, Snead’s is a working farm with something for everyone.
Snead’s Asparagus Farm is located at 18294 Tidewater Trail Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408 and begin summer hours at the end of June opening at 9AM. The farm typically opens mid-November for Christmas Tree season and stay open while supplies last through early December.
Valley Star Farm
If you live in or near the Shenandoah Valley, then Valley Star Farm is your regional destination for pick your own Christmas Trees. The farm, operating since the 1950’s, is located in Luray, Virginia at 1104 Springfield Road Luray, Virginia 22835 and have over 20 acres dedicated to Christmas Trees.
Valley Star Farm has many trees in the 6 to 7 feet range as well as taller trees to choose from. Visitors can choose from the following species: White Pine, Norway Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, Canaan Fir, Concolor Fir, and Douglas Fir. In addition to the beautiful trees, the farm also offers pine wreathes, swags, bows, and centerpieces. The farm is affiliated with the Trees for Troops program that raises awareness and monetary funds to support various causes for troops and their famillies.
Spruce Ridge Tree Farm
Set amongst the rolling, green hills outside Blacksburg is the Spruce Ridge Tree Farm. This award winning tree farm has provided trees in the past to the Governor’s Mansion and harvested from their stock of 25,000 trees. Spruce Ridge offers all of the best varieties of trees including: Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Balsam Fir, Concolor Fir, White Pine, and Blue Spruce.
Be sure to bring cash, as the farm does not accept credit cards. The farm is not only a great destination to put you in the Holiday spirit, but it is a great location for photographers to take season family photos and photo sessions. The farm is approximately a 1-hour drive from either Wytheville and Roanoke and is located at 655 Spruce Run Rd, Newport, Virginia 24128 and opens seasonally at the end of November through early December.
Snickers Gap Tree Farm
With over 36,000 Christmas Trees, Snickers Gap Tree Farm near Round Hill, Virginia is a short hour drive from Arlington and the D.C. Metro area. Situated in the heart of Northern Virginia at 34350 Williams Gap Road Round Hill, VA 20141, Snickers Gap offers Douglas Fir and Colorado Blue Spruce trees some as tall as 9 feet in height.
While there, stay a while and enjoy the beauty of one of Loudoun County’s finest tree farms and see the sales barn where wreathes made fresh daily, tree stands, lights, rope and other Christmas Tree gear is available as well as fresh apple cider from Winchester, Virginia.
Joe’s Trees
For over 60 years, Joe’s Trees has offered not only fresh Christmas Trees for your Holiday decorating needs, but they offer a variety of fresh produce, jams, jellies, and preserves. Located northwest of Roanoke at 5110 Cumberland Gap Rd, Newport, VA 24128, Joe’s Trees is an experience you don’t want to miss either in the fall with their pumpkins or in the winter to cut your own Christmas Tree.
Joe’s Trees will open mid-September to kick off the fall season, and they are typically open Tuesday through Sunday 9AM to 5PM. Christmas hours are Tuesday through Sunday starting in mid-November to just prior to Christmas Eve day. The farm offers a seasonal and holiday gift store, a corn maze, and a gem mine and fossil search for kids.
